It’s great camping in camping in North Holland because it is perhaps one of the most versatile provinces in the Netherlands. Camping Boven het Maaiveld is a small and friendly campground located right in the middle of the province of North Holland.
The picturesque North Holland countryside can be explored by bicycle. Beautiful historic towns like Hoorn, Schagen and Medemblik are easily accessible via beautiful country paths and winding roads. From the campsite, you can reach basically everything in North Holland within half an hour by car. So within half an hour’s drive you are swimming in the North Sea, the Wadden Sea or the IJsselmeer. Of course then you’ll visit favorite coastal towns like Schoorl and Callantsoog. But the Netherlands’ largest city beach in Hoorn is also a nice place to cool off. Many visitors to North Holland also have a day at Texel on their schedule.
Amsterdam is easily accessible by car. In half an hour you are in a cheap parking lot and the North-South line will take you into the city in minutes. Enjoy the beautiful capital of the Netherlands with the Rijksmuseum and the Anne Frank House and fine parks or the famous places on the way to it like The Zaanse Schans and Volendam.
The great thing about a small-scale rural campsite like Boven het Maaiveld, centrally located in North Holland, is that you always come home to a quiet and cozy campsite. Campfire or barbecue on and relax!
