Boven ‘t Maaiveld is exactly in the middle between salt and fresh. On one side the North Sea coast with cozy seaside resorts and on the other side the IJsselmeer with beautiful historic towns such as Hoorn, Enkhuizen and Medemblik. You can stroll for hours through the West Frisian countryside by bike and on foot. There is a large network of good cycle paths along beautiful places and there are many ‘off road’ hiking trails nearby that let you experience the vast landscape in every fiber. For families, there are plenty of play parks, attractions and animal parks full of strange birds and other animals, fun museums and surprising places. Walking, cycling or by car through the beautiful West Frisian landscape you can get everywhere and experience the most beautiful and best between salt and fresh. Within walking and cycling distance of the campsite you will find 2 supermarkets, a delicious bakery, an artisan butcher and various restaurants. Of course you will find brochures and ideas for fun outings, cycling and walking tours at the campsite. But we prefer to talk to you about the best market, the best adventure paradise or the most surprising idea. There are also many options for groups.
